Role Overview:

The Control Panel Technician is responsible for maintaining the drawings and schematics of electrical panels for all H2O Product Lines. This role includes the assembly and testing of standard product electrical panels and providing support to the Automation Engineer during testing of engineered and standard products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, install, and maintain electrical control panels according to specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of control panels to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with electrical control systems and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure all electrical control panel drawings/schematics accurately represent the as-built panel and receive client approval/acceptance without punch list prior to shipment.
  • Respond to service support/client queries about fielded products within 18 hours and provide technical responses within 48 hours.
  • Perform point-to-point testing on electrical panels and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on the latest industry practices and technologies.

Skills and Qualifications: 

  1. Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Technical certifications or an associate degree in electrical technology or a related field are strongly preferred.
  2. Experience:
    • At least 2 years of relevant work experience or education in a related field.
    • Proven experience in assembling and testing electrical control panels.
    • Experience in maintaining and editing wiring drawings and schematics.
    • Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols.
    • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly with offshore water treatment systems, preferred.
  3. Skills & Competencies:
    • Familiarity with electrical safety regulations for hazardous environments (e.g., NFPA 70E).
    • Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions in electrical control systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
    • Experience with components commonly found in offshore water treatment systems, such as pressure vessels, pumps, and chemical dosing systems.
    • Advanced technical knowledge and hands-on experience in electrical control systems.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
